College/Department Information
The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 304 students per class. The MCG educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, with regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state, and two four-year campuses located in Athens (in partnership with the University of Georgia) and in Savannah (in partnership with Georgia Southern University). MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provide more than 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to approximately 575 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.
Job Summary
This position provides operational supervision of applicant counseling, application processing, recruitment support, and interview operations within the Office of Admissions. The incumbent supervises three Admissions Counselors; oversees application processing workflow and applicant advising; coordinates the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) process; participates in recruitment activities throughout Georgia and surrounding communities; and supports the Director and Associate Director in the implementation of recruitment, admissions, and operational initiatives.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Interview Coordination
Serves as the primary coordinator for the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) process in collaboration with the Associate Director and Director of Admissions during the annual interview season (August through January).
Oversees interview day workflow and logistics for approximately 650 applicants annually, including scheduling, interviewer assignments, applicant movement, virtual platform management, and troubleshooting day-of operational issues.
Develops and maintains interview schedules, operational timelines, and workflow processes to ensure efficient interview operations.
Coordinates medical student ambassadors and virtual campus tours to support the applicant interview experience.
Coordinates interviewer scheduling, maintains interviewer participation records, and verifies interviewer time reporting.
Evaluates interview operations and recommends workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and the applicant experience.
Application Management and Applicant Counseling
Oversees application processing workflow to ensure timely review, consistency, accuracy, and compliance with admissions policies and institutional requirements.
Performs routine quality assurance reviews of application processing activities to promote consistency, accuracy, and adherence to admissions policies.
Assists with the review and processing of primary applications, secondary applications, residency determinations, and supporting documentation, particularly for complex or exception cases.
Monitors applicant files to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely progression through the admissions process.
Serves as the lead counselor for prospective applicants and re-applicants, providing guidance regarding admissions requirements, competitiveness, and application strategies.
Assists the Director and Associate Director with the development and implementation of applicant communication strategies throughout the admissions cycle
Recruitment and Outreach
Coordinates recruitment visits and outreach activities with colleges and universities throughout the state of Georgia and surrounding communities.
Coordinates recruitment travel schedules, counselor assignments, and event logistics for the admissions team.
Assists the Associate Director and/or Director of Admissions with the implementation of recruitment strategies designed to expand the applicant pool and retain highly qualified applicants.
Collaborates with institutional communications and marketing partners to coordinate recruitment materials, promotional content, student stories, and web-based communications.
Coordinates on-campus visits and special events for prospective students and campus partners.
Maintains the prospective student database utilized for recruitment outreach and applicant engagement.
Collects, maintains, and summarizes recruitment activity data to assist leadership in evaluating outreach efforts and future recruitment planning.
Supervision and Leadership
Provides direct supervision, onboarding, coaching, and performance management for three Admissions Counselors.
Oversees workload distribution and daily operations of the application processing team to ensure timely, consistent completion of admissions functions.
Serves as a resource and mentor to admissions staff regarding policies, procedures, and best practices.
Assists the Director and Associate Director with office planning, workflow optimization, and implementation of operational improvements.
Serves as the primary operational contact in the absence of the Director and/or Associate Director, ensuring continuity of daily admissions services.

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university with five years experience in admissions or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree from an accredited college or university

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
Pay Band: 11
Salary: Minimum $56,600.00/Annually - $59,220.80/Annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
