JOB TITLE:

Program Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE:

The Global Engagement Office Program Coordinator plays a key role in welcoming international students, faculty, and visiting delegations from around the world, and regularly interacts with a globally-minded campus community. This position offers the chance to travel in support of international visits and hosted events, coordinating logistics that bring global partnerships to life.

The Program Coordinator will assist in the planning, supervision, development and coordination of operations within designated programs and across Global Engagement Office operations, advise and collaborate with students, faculty, and staff, and facilitate opportunities that enhance the global footprint of the University of Wyoming.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide project leadership and independently support the administrative, operational, and strategic planning functions of the Global Engagement Office, exercising considerable judgment in coordinating office priorities and initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary administrative support to the Vice Provost for Global Engagement and act as a liaison among Global Engagement units, University departments, external partners, and international stakeholders.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and logistics of international delegations, including some international travel.
  • Coordinate and administer Global Engagement programs, services, events, international visitors, and special initiatives to ensure efficient delivery of services and successful accomplishment of organizational goals.
  • Research, analyze, and respond to complex inquiries and situations; compile and interpret data; prepare reports, correspondence, agreements, and other documentation in support of office operations and leadership decision-making.
  • Interpret and apply University policies, procedures, and regulations; provide guidance to faculty, staff, students, and external constituents and make referrals as appropriate.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and management of international partnerships, agreements, and administrative systems, including recommending improvements to policies, procedures, and operational practices.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and monitor designated projects and budget-related activities; maintain records and reporting systems and support financial and operational accountability within the office.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and provide leadership to student employees as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: 1 year work-related experience

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements:

Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP.

Experience Evaluation

Minimum experience requirements are evaluated on a full-time equivalent (FTE) basis. Relevant part-time experience will be prorated based on hours worked. For example, two years working an average of 20 hours per week is equivalent to approximately one year of full-time experience.

Applicants must include the average hours worked per week for all current and previous positions. Failure to provide this information may affect the evaluation of qualifications.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated success working across cultures or institutional stakeholders
  • Interest or experience in international contexts
  • Experience coordinating international delegations, visiting scholars, diplomats, or international institutional partnerships
  • Experience managing or tracking memoranda of understanding (MOUs), exchange agreements, or other international partnership documents
  • Experience coordinating events, programs, or complex logistics involving multiple campus units, international partners, or external constituents
  • Experience supporting senior academic leaders such as a dean, vice provost, vice president, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures or experience interpreting policies, procedures, and administrative regulations.
  • Experience with office management procedures and operations
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent written, oral, and verbal communication skills
