Post Doc (Immunology - Bapat Lab)
Post Doc (Immunology - Bapat Lab)
Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY
The Bapat Lab in the Department of Pathology has an exciting opening for a post doc to lead mechanistically driven and innovative research focused on T cell biology, with particular emphasis on how environmental factors such as diet, metabolic state, and inflammatory context reshape T cell differentiation, function, and tissue residency.
The post doc will formulate hypotheses grounded in immunology, metabolism, and systems biology, and will design and execute rigorous in vivo and in vitro experiments to define how environmental exposures reprogram T cell transcriptional, epigenetic, and metabolic states. This includes integrating single cell and functional datasets to delineate how specific cues imprint durable changes in T cell fate and effector potential.
Beyond defining mechanism, the post doc will translate these insights into the development of next generation T cell--based therapeutic strategies engineered to modify tissue function to protect against the negative effects of environmental stressors.
Responsibilities include driving projects from conceptualization through publication, contributing to grant development, mentoring trainees, and articulating a clear, fundable vision for how environmentally instructed T cell programs can be harnessed.
