Position Information
The Athletic Certification and Degree Audit Specialist is responsible for reviewing and conferral of student degrees in accordance with the Academic Senate regulations and College approvals. This position is also responsible for all NCAA student-athlete certification based out the Registrars Office. As part of the Degree Audit and Graduation team, this position will be updating and implementing new technologies to enforce graduation requirements for all students. Please note: A Cover Letter is required. The budgeted hiring range for this position is up to $50,000-$74,300.


Minimum Requirements
Strong problem identification, critical thinking, and problem solving skills; judgment and decision-making ability. Ability to assess processes and implement improvements.
Working knowledge and demonstrated ability to use complex databases.
Thorough knowledge of particular Registrar core functions (e.g., degree requirements, special enrollment, veterans' benefits, and residency).
Thorough knowledge of policies, regulations, and practices with student records services.
Ability to apply thorough knowledge of policies to a variety of individual situations. Recommends procedures to ensure compliance in a diverse learning community.
Ability to work with people from diverse cultures. Utilizes excellent constituent service skills with all interactions.
Thorough knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Strong ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with campus departments, UC campuses, and external agencies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Active listening skills. Customer service orientation. Interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.


Preferred Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and productivity software.

Thorough knowledge of University policies, processes, and procedures and of Federal and California laws pertaining to the privacy rights of students and access to student information.

Knowledge of NCAA Division I athletic certification policies.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Ellucian© DegreeWorks, Scribe and Transit.

Basic understanding of the System development life-cycle.
