MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy, or marriage, family and child counseling
OR

A valid California Community College Counselor Credential; OR

The equivalent AND

Work experience related to collegiate academic and/or career counseling

Experience working in a multi-ethnic environment with students who have a variety of learning styles and abilities 3

Note: A license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline, pursuant to Title 5, Section 53410.1.

Degree must be shown as conferred on transcript. Some degrees may require equivalency. It is the applicant's responsibility to provide documentation to support equivalent qualifications.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Some familiarity with community college counseling

Ability to facilitate groups and workshops

Cultural competence
