About the Position:
The Office of Registration and Records is committed to serving students and the campus community by providing quality service that facilitates enrollment, retention, and degree completion, while maintaining accurate academic records for the University. We are also responsible for processing transfer credit, maintaining articulation agreements, with other institutions. Additionally, we register new and continuing students for classes, maintain academic records, prepare transcripts and diplomas, and reviews petitions for exception to University Policy. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as an Evaluator II. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Under the supervision of the Registrar, evaluates academic records for the purpose of determining eligibility for graduation. Posts degrees to student records. Reads and thoroughly understands the Titan Degree Audit (TDA) to accurately notify students of incomplete degree requirements using a database system. Verifies transfer units are awarded accurately in the Degree Audit System (U.Achieve). Accurately inputs and evaluates undergraduate supplemental transfer work to determine applicability toward degree. Provides analysis and interpretation of college and campus policies relating to graduation requirements to campus community in order to solve complex student issues. College specific evaluation requires ability to explain complex policies and procedures to students, major advisers and graduation specialists. Assists major adviser and graduation specialists in moving students to the appropriate graduation term. Provides knowledge and guidance to students with complicated legacy records and their degree requirements. Evaluates native and transfer work for NCAA eligibility for student athletes. Assists in the editing of the commencement program. As needed, provides instruction and guidance to student workers and new or trainee evaluators. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Two years of academic records evaluation experience with the full scope of responsibility for making decisions regarding eligibility for the granting of degrees. Completion of a formal training program in academic records evaluation may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Thorough knowledge of resource and documentation processes, as well as knowledge of organizing and assigning the work of a group. Ability to interpret and apply criteria related to unusual cases. Ability to organize and manage workloads. Ability to explain and interpret the application of complex regulations, requirements, and criteria to individual students and faculty members. Ability to safeguard the confidentiality and security of student records. Ability to be responsible for all aspects of functional assignments. Ability to instruct and lead the work of others in evaluation processes.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
