Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Responsible for developing and maintaining the High-Performance Computing Cluster Systems for the CCSE teaching and research labs. Collaborates closely with faculty and research associates to ensure systems meet teaching and research needs. Troubleshoots and resolves complex software, operating system, and network problems and determine whether the problem is system-related, hardware, software, or the end'user. Assists in the troubleshooting of end-user system issues to help maintain consistent lab-wide computing.
Responsibilities
1. Develops High Performance Computing (HCP) Cluster Systems analysis and design
2. Provides support and maintenance of data center hardware and cloud based HPC infrastructure
3. Works closely with faculty and staff to develop/maintain machine learning frameworks that support CCSE teaching and research
4. Supervises and supports Graduate and Undergraduate research assistants
5. Responds, resolves or escalates CCSE service ticket issues
6. Creates technical documentation to explain functionality and use of CCSE data center software and hardware
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology
Required Experience
Two (2) years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Experience in Linux Administration, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Working knowledge in high-performance scientific computing
Familiarity/experience with software engineering tools and practices
SKILLS
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
