Job Summary
The research in my laboratory is focused on understanding the molecular events important in pancreatic cancer development. A research specialist position is now open for lab management, student supervision, and projects aimed at understanding pancreatic cancer biology. Research will be performed utilizing a variety of in vitro and in vivo approaches.

Responsibilities*
The applicant is required to function in an independent fashion and be responsible of his/her own research project. In particular, he/she will be expected to be able to design experiments, initially under the PI's guidance, conduct experiments, process and analyze data, and potentially develop new and/or revise research methodologies. In addition, the candidate will be expected to present his/her own work both at lab meetings as well as scientific conferences and to critically analyze literature relevant to the research. The successful candidate will be expected to be proficient at scientific writing, and be able to prepare research papers. The applicant will also take on a lab manager duty. He/she will be expected to work with the PI on organizing and managing day to day lab functions, including reagent and supply ordering, inspections, protocols, setting up rules, and student supervising. He/she is also expected to monitor budget and researches and make recommendations regarding the purchase of equipment.

Required Qualifications*

A doctoral degree and familiarity with basic laboratory techniques in molecular biology field is required for this position
4-5 years of experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required

Desired Qualifications*

The candidate will be expected to be familiar with bioinformatics, basic molecular and cell biology techniques, and in vivo mouse model studies
Additional expertise in epigenetics is a plus
