Position Description
The Department Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Whitacre College of Engineering at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track, open-rank(Assistant/Associate/ Full Professor) to begin January 16, 2026.

Major/Essential Functions
In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.
As a faculty member in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the Whitacre College of Engineering, your responsibilities will include teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses, developing new courses, mentoring graduate students, and establishing a strong research program in Electrical Engineering / Electro-Physics. This role also involves securing external funding, producing archival publications, engaging in professional service activities, and collaborating within the department and across disciplines.


Required Qualifications
  1. Doctorate in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field;
  2. Work/research experience related to Pulsed Power and EMP;
  3. Because a significant portion of the funds available for the Center for Pulsed Power is regulated under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)/EAR, the successful candidate must be able to work in an environment conforming to ITAR requirements either currently or working to meet necessary requirements within these regulations or as otherwise required by the project sponsor.


Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, individuals possessing the following preferred qualifications, appropriate to the level of the position applied for, are highly encouraged to apply:
  1. Pulsed Power, EMP related publications commensurate with the career level.
  2. Successful proposal writing experience and/or funding in the areas of pulsed power / electromagnetic pulse research or related;
  3. Teaching experience in undergraduate/graduate engineering course(s) or related;
  4. Track record of collaborations with other researchers / institutions;
  5. National/international awards;
  6. Professional service activities.
