Job Description
Under the general direction of the Superintendent of Sanitation Safety, this position inspects for insects/wildlife, working to identify and prevent pest issues. The technician works directly with the appropriate personnel to control the issue by accurately identifying, selecting, mixing, and safely applying chemicals, traps, or by using engineering controls.
Responsibilities
- Inspecting, monitoring, and identifying pest issues.
- Performing preventive treatments and arranging for engineering controls.
- Maintaining strong communication with Supervisor and co-workers.
- Responding to on demand issues and alleviating the concerns of customers through action and strong communication.
- Keeping records of work performed and coordinating with other departments to resolve pest issues.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma
- Experience: No experience required
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Must be able to successfully complete and pass the Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) category 7 certification.
- Must be able to successfully pass pulmonary function test and subsequent respirator fit test.
- Must be able to receive a rabies inoculation.
- Other Conditions: Valid Driver's license
