Job Summary:

The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology has an opening for a full-time Vascular Cardiologist to join our faculty. The Vascular Medicine and Intervention Program within the Division of Cardiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is highly involved in the care of patients with a wide spectrum of non-coronary vascular diseases and collaborates with the Rocky Mountain Veteran Affairs Medical Center and the Denver Health hospital. Across these institutions, we offer comprehensive clinical care and are engaged in a wide breadth of academic pursuits, including collaboration with CPC Clinical Research and training upcoming vascular medicine specialists and interventional cardiologists.

The clinical focus of the Vascular Medicine and Intervention section at the University of Colorado Hospital currently is the outpatient care of all types of vascular disease including occlusive and aneurysmal atherosclerotic diseases (carotid, vertebral, renal, mesenteric, aortic, and peripheral), non-atherosclerotic diseases (fibromuscular dysplasia, complications from vasculitis, and popliteal entrapment), venous diseases (thromboembolic, central venous compressive disorders such as thoracic outlet syndrome and May-Thurner syndrome, and chronic venous insufficiency) and vasospastic disorders such as Raynaud's. Vascular Medicine and Intervention also provides inpatient consultation, both at the University of Colorado Hospital and at our affiliated hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct Ambulatory based patient Care: split between University of Colorado Hospital Heart and Vascular Center and one of the Hospital-Outpatient Department sites
  • Hospital based clinical care: Cardiac Critical Care Unit

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora and Highlands Ranch Hospital, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • Fellowship trained; board eligible or board certified in interventional cardiology

  • MD or DO

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • CT angiography skills and cardiac

  • Proficiency in echocardiography; CT, MRI, and/or nuclear cardiology training

  • Experience as a clinical educator

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Ability to integrate clinical, quality/patient safety, management and financial concepts within a pediatric, academic healthcare setting.
    • Strong leadership skills, including interpersonal communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, problem resolution, decision-making and project/change management.

    Anticipated Pay Range:

    The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

    $210,000 to $240,000

    The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
