Job Description
The University of Chattanooga Foundation, Inc. (UCF) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Assistant Director of Campus Advancement for the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Advancement, the Assistant Director of Campus Advancement is responsible for identification, cultivation and solicitation of prospective and current donors to UTC's campus units targeting gifts of $500-$10,000.

This role will work in strong collaboration with UTC's Director of Annual Giving and campus advancement officers in the Rollins College of Business, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Engineering and Computer Science, College of Health, Education and Professional Studies, UTC Honors, and other student support units to enhance and build the leadership annual giving and major gift pipeline.


Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Donor Engagement: Conduct 225+ visits (face-to-face, virtual) with prospective and current donors aimed at the end goal of increasing annual gifts to UTC, finding new donors, and qualifying potential major gift prospects. This role will function as an advancement generalist that will assist in increasing current annual gifts and secondarily, identifying new supporters to the colleges.

Prospect Management: Work with campus advancement officers to fill pipelines and prospect identification for college-specific and campus-wide funding initiatives.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience

The candidate who fills the Assistant Director of Campus Advancement position is required to have:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 or more years of experience in education or non-profit advancement office, or other related high-paced business or sales environment
  • Exceptional writing, listening, and interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively with academic leadership, faculty, colleagues, and prospective donors in a wide range of settings
  • Willingness and ability to work weekends and evenings


A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UTFI reserves the right to consider all appropriate circumstances. In general, any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position.

Note - Candidates holding a graduate degree must have at least 1 year of experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:
  • 2 or more years of experience in fundraising or development that includes direct face-to-face or virtual solicitation of annual fund and/or major gift donors
  • Robust customer service skills and organizational skills
