Position Summary:
Bucknell University is seeking an Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach, who will be responsible for working closely with the Head Coach on managing and administering phases of the varsity lacrosse intercollegiate sport program. This position is part of the Department of Athletics and Recreation at Bucknell University, which is part of the University's 27 varsity athletic programs and approximately 700 student-athletes operate within NCAA Division I and conference regulations. All Athletics staff members are expected to contribute to Bucknell's commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Reporting Relationship:
- Reports to the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach
Work Setting/Schedule:
- Primarily on-campus
- Must be able to travel with the team for competitions and for recruiting, per permitted recruiting calendar
- Requires night and weekend availability
What You Will Do:
- Coaching Responsibilities: Help monitor, and coordinate training and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained. Assist and perform specific coaching responsibilities during athletic events. Assist in film sessions and implement individual/team strategies resulting from these sessions. Assist with daily operations and administration of the women's lacrosse program. Develop a comprehensive and functional knowledge of the sport and maintain a thorough and continuing familiarity with all applicable University and NCAA regulations.
- Recruiting: Scout and recruit quality student-athletes under the guidance and direction of the head coach and coordinate all recruiting activities with the head coach and with appropriate departmental personnel. Be responsible to identify, cultivate and assess for a specific geographical area or position.
- Student Athlete Services: Monitor student-athlete academic progress. Work closely with all appropriate departmental personnel to assure academic success of students. Work closely with student-athletes to monitor adherence to rules and regulations regarding conduct, appearance, and behavior. Provide individual counseling to student-athletes when appropriate and direct the student-athlete to professional staff when needed. Work closely with the athletic training staff to ensure the safety of all student-athletes. Participate in departmental activities as feasible.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.

What You Will Bring:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Prior experience coaching or competing at the collegiate level (preferably with success at a comparable institution)
- Ability to maintain current CPR and First Aid certification
- Valid US driver's license/Motor Vehicle Check required upon hire
- Willingness to drive University Omnibuses when needed
- 1-2 years collegiate athletics experience preferred
- Strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach, counsel, and recruit academically qualified student-athletes
- Proven integrity and leadership skills
- Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Physical Requirements:
- Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
- Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day

36,640.00-45,800.00
The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
