The School of Education at the University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for an Executive Assistant to the Dean! This role helps the Dean stay organized, focused, and on track with important goals and priorities for the School of Education. This role supports big-picture planning while also helping with day-to-day tasks and projects. The Executive Assistant works closely with others across the school and campus, making sure everyone is aligned and things run smoothly. This position also helps manage key projects and handles high-level scheduling, communication, and coordination for the Dean.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Executive Support, Operations & Communications
- Be a primary liaison to the Dean, coordinating communications, logistics, and strategic input for leadership initiatives and high-level projects.
- Draft, edit, and manage high-level business communications, policy documents, reports, presentations, and meeting materials on behalf of the Dean; support the development of Dean's updates and executive messaging to ensure clarity, consistency, and strategic alignment.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Dean for Communications to shape internal and external messaging, including newsletters, speeches, and presentations, etc..
- Draft communications, proposals, and reports that reflect the Dean's voice and vision.
- Lead the School's crisis communications coordination with campus partners.
- Maintain minutes and documentation for leadership, faculty, and staff meetings; be responsible for the SOE calendar and Dean's scheduling process.
- Represent the Dean at meetings as needed; facilitate meetings in the Dean's absence.
- Provide high-level coordination of activities related to governance, including by-laws and reappointment/promotion/tenure (RPT) processes.
- Lead external advisory councils, such as the Education Advisory Council (EAC), through scheduling, planning, and communication with members.
- Maintain situational awareness of education trends and share relevant updates with SOE leadership.
Planning Strategically & Project Management
- Help plan, organize, and carry out special projects from start to finish.
- Monitor progress, manage timelines, assess outcomes, and adjust project direction as necessary in consultation with Dean.
- Manage sensitive and high-priority requests with autonomy and discretion.
- Provide data-informed insights and briefings to advance planning and decision-making.
- Provide strategic and logistical support for SOE events, including agenda planning, scheduling, and execution for executive-level events led by the Dean; contribute to commencement planning and serve as a key partner in coordinating event location, timing, and on-site logistics in collaboration with the leadership team, among other school events.
Strategic Advisory & Organizational Alignment
- Act as a strategic advisor and thought partner to the Dean and leadership team.
- Support the development, execution, and evaluation of strategic priorities and initiatives across the School.
- Coordinate strategic planning processes and track progress toward performance metrics and goals.
- Develop, maintain, and leverage partnerships across campus to ensure success of strategic efforts.
- Influence change and innovation across the School by identifying and implementing organizational effectiveness strategies.
Other Duties
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean or SOE leadership, supporting the overall goals and operations of the School as needed.
- Participate in School-wide meetings and committees as needed.
- Provide additional support for emerging initiatives, policy changes, or organizational needs.
What You Should Know
- This position will work in a hybrid work format, and is required to be in the office at least 18 hours a week.
- The position has an anticipated work schedule of Monday - Friday during regular business hours.
What We Can Offer
- The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $83,000 annually.
- Relocation is available according to department guidelines, which is up to 5% of base salary.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
- At least 3 years of increasingly responsible experience in higher education, strategy, project management, or a related administrative leadership role.
- Experience supporting executive-level leaders and managing complex initiatives.

- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting correspondence and preparing meeting materials.
- Proficiency with scheduling and calendar management across multiple platforms (e.g., Outlook, Zoom, Teams).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic execution, thinking, and planning abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Dedication to creating and supporting a campus environment where everyone matters and all can thrive.
- High emotional intelligence and professionalism.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis, report preparation, and policy interpretation.
