College/Department Information
Researching Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Stroke, Hypertension, Diabetes... With the increasing frequency of obesity and diabetes, especially in Georgia, cardiovascular disease is reaching epidemic proportions. The Vascular Biology Center at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University knows the demand is high for new and better treatments. Our internationally recognized team of research experts have one goal - to make breakthroughs in the prevention and treatment of disease so that we all may live longer, healthier lives.
Job Summary
This position will provide professional and efficient administrative support for successful research development. High-level administrative support for Program Project Grant with three projects and three cores: managing orders, accounts, regular, Executive, and Scientific Committee PPG meetings with faculty to include preparation of materials and minutes, coordinate annual visits of Internal and External Advisory Board members, annual progress report, coordinate Box storage for PPG data; coordinate travel for P01-related conferences.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Obtain best pricing and manage PPG orders and receipt of packages ' PeopleSoft, Health eShop, Pcard ' ensure compliance with grant regulations and AU policies. Resolve issues, ensure pricing is accurate and discounts are procured.
Assist with account reconciliation, account management, and equipment contracts, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations regarding use of funds. Report spend rate status at PPG meetings.
Schedule and prepare materials for all meetings; attend and take minutes; distribute minutes.
Coordinate Internal and External Advisory Board meetings to include travel arrangements.
Coordinate Box storage for PPG investigators.
Process Travel Authorizations and Travel Expense Statements ensuring compliance with all institutional and grant policies.
Prepare FedEx and UPS shipments for PPG.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university.
OR
High School Diploma/GED from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization with a minimum of three years of progressively responsible office support experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with PeopleSoft and Augusta University.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
Knowledge of Uniform Guidelines
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Part-Time (0.49 FTE)
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday
Salary Range: $16.54-$19.86 per hour.
Pay Band: B3
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
Recruitment Period: Until Filled.
Conditions of Employment
All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.
If applicable for the specific position based on the duties: the candidate will also need to have a credit check completed for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage.
Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.
For Faculty Hires: Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.

GA Defined Contribution Plan
Participation in the Georgia Defined Contribution Plan is mandatory for part-time and temporary employees. The Georgia Defined Contribution Plan is a retirement plan for part-time employees who work less than 50% and for temporary employees. Members contribute 7 1/2% of gross salary to the plan.
