Posting Context Statement:
The Associate Director of Multi-Use Facilities plays a pivotal role in the maintenance, facility stewardship and supervision of support services and personnel in some of the most iconic buildings on the University of Idaho campus. This role helps ensure optimal use of university-operated multi-use facilities and resources, coordinates with various departments to support events and activities and implements operational improvements that align with the universitys strategic goals. This position plays a key role in supporting enrollment, retention and student success initiatives through safe and efficient facility operations in buildings primarily supported through student-fee funding.
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for the daily management and strategic oversight of multi-use facilities at the University of Idaho.
Duties will include:

- Providing strategic direction for business systems within assigned units
- Budget management
- Negotiating contracts and procurement agreements
- Planning and strategic development for capital improvements
- Directing building maintenance programs
- Data-driven leadership for facility usage
- Event management and support
- Supervising event staff
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
- 5 years of experience in public venue facility management which includes three or more of the following:
- Budget and facilities management
- Supervising professional staff
- Strategic planning and operational leadership
- Capital project planning and oversight
- Managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
Required Education:
- Bachelors degree in Business or Facility Management OR four additional years (totaling 9 years) of experience in public venue facility management may substitute for a Bachelors Degree
Required Other:
- Possess a valid drivers license and ability to meet the universitys driving requirements
- Ability to move about and between venues for extended periods of time up to a full day of work
- Work and nonstandard schedule as needed
Additional Preferred:
- Masters degree in business administration, public administration, or related field
- IAVM Certified Venue Professional or Certified Venue Executive
- Experience in higher education administration
- Demonstrated ability to implement employee training and manage large-scale events
- Knowledge of building systems (mechanical, carpentry, etc.) and maintenance planning
- Experience developing and evaluating event and business operations for revenue generation
- Ability to use two-way radio, phone, and public address systems
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop and work in high places
- Ability to move in and around confined spaces
- Ability to work in dusty and enclosed areas such as basements, attics and plenums
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions
