College/Department Information

Augusta University Libraries provide books, ebooks, government publications, journals, audiovisuals, databases, historical collections, and more, in support of student and faculty research. We provide research assistance in person and electronically and also provide tours and instruction classes for undergraduate, graduate and professional students. Students can request appointments with librarians, including specialized medical reference librarians, for more in-depth research needs. Thousands of research journals are available electronically, in person and remotely - through research databases held in GALILEO and elsewhere, with many available full text.

Job Summary

This position supports the Library Makerspace Coordinator by providing services pertaining to the Creative Technology Lab (CTL) located in the Greenblatt Library and shall assist the evening and weekend access services staff when requested. The candidate to fill this position will work the following schedule:


Shift: Part-Time .49FTE (approx. 19.60 hours per week)
Sun: 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Mon-Thurs: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Responsibilities

The duties include but are not limited to:

LAB ATTENDANT: Serve as a self-motivated attendant for the Creative Technology Lab during the evenings and weekends. Operate the 3D printer and Makerspace tech to fulfill patron orders and requests, teach technical operations to patrons, assist with CTL workshops, document CTL patron usage and supply inventory perform required maintenance on the CTL machinery.

STAND-IN SERVICE STAFF: Provide backup for the evening and weekend Access Services staff. Assist users with information resources, providing accurate basic reference assistance at the Information Desk, and logging questions and responses into our LibAnswers Reference Analytics. Provide circulation and other access services to faculty, staff, students, and community users on the front desk.

OTHER: Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accrediting organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of CAD software. Experience with Cricut Maker and accessories. FDM 3-D Printer Experience. Familiarity with academic library standards, procedures, and platforms (GIL-Find Online Catalog, GALILEO, SpringShare, etc.) and experience with integrated library system such as Alma.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Sunday-Thursday

Pay Band: B1

Salary: $15.00/hourly

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
