JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Lead Cancer Conference Coordinator oversees the workflow for the Cancer Program. This position coordinates conferences along with the Cancer Conference Coordinators and various physician leaders in the Cancer Program.
Responsibilities
- Assists with planning and prioritizing the established needs of all multidisciplinary cancer conferences.
- Identifies and compiles pathology, radiology, and physician notes for presentation at the meeting.
- Interprets and coordinates representation of required disciplines by medical facility for participation at each conference.
- Determines and ensures pertinent, up-to-date patient information such as test results, imaging, pathology slides, and other relevant information are available before the conference.
- Attends, presides, and documents treatment decisions of multidisciplinary tumor board meetings.
- Formulates and summarizes all cases presented at each conference. (Currently, there are 10 different multidisciplinary conferences, some meeting multiple times per month and or weekly).
- Compiles CME applications and develops necessary documents for submission to the CME office for annual approval in coordination with the multidisciplinary conference physician leader.
- Prepares end-of-year reports for each multidisciplinary conference physician leader for submission to the CME office.
- Constructs and maintains listserv accounts for each multidisciplinary conference.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of experience in office administration; OR Bachelor's Degree in lieu of experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Knowledge of technical and audiovisual equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently to plan and organize efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in a multidisciplinary educational environment.
- Ability to manage multiple relationships at various levels and to prioritize and complete various tasks timely.
- Attention to detail.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work evenings.
