THIS POSITION IS BASED IN THE COLLEGE OF PHARMACY ON THE NASHVILLE, TN CAMPUS.
JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Coordinator of Student Services provides administrative support to the Director of Student Services and the Associate Dean of Student Affairs of the College of Pharmacy in the planning, development, and implementation of student events and student advisement. Activities include but are not limited to special event planning, advising current College of Pharmacy students, referring to appropriate campus resources as needed, and special projects. A limited amount of time will also be spent on recruitment, admissions, and testing support.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the planning, development, and implementation of a variety of student services, student programs, and special projects.
- Plans, develops, and implements Nashville orientation sessions.
- Assists in the planning, development and implementation of P1 Orientation, P1 White Coat Ceremony, P3 Pinning event and Commencement.
- Assists the Associate Dean for Student Success with Pharmacy activities.
- Assists in the preparation of reports for assessment of programs.
- Documents advising sessions and track student outcomes.
- Schedules office visits and student tours on the Nashville campus.
- Represents and promotes the College of Pharmacy through participation in college fairs, conferences, and other community programs.
- Provides onsite staff support for Nashville Interview Days.
- Serves on task forces and committees as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree. (Master's Degree in Higher Education or related field preferred.) (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience in higher education student services.
Desired experiences include student advising and mentoring, database management, and webpage maintenance. Distance education understanding and experience preferred. Valid Driver's License is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong skills in mentoring/advising students, and proven ability in exhibiting strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills including database management, word processing, and webpage maintenance.
- Knowledge of general academic recruitment, academic counseling procedures, college enrollment policies and procedures and a basic understanding of distance education concepts and technologies.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evening hours, with some travel.
