Assist the Vice President/CFO in the development, evaluation and monitoring of college budget allocations, expenditures and revenue projections. This includes the preparation, analysis and distribution of monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the College Administration/Divisions and Board of Trustees. The Director will participate in formulating and determining fiscal policy.
Essential Duties:
- Create, monitor, assess and (as needed) improve the college-wide process for assembling the annual operating budget which reflects input from across the college and assembles a prioritized budget proposal for the college leadership and Board of Trustees' consideration.
- Conduct exercises to project or forecast revenue and expense outcomes throughout the fiscal year.
- Prepare and monitor multiple budgets, revenue forecasting, payroll expense projections and spending plans.
- Prepare financial and other reports for Senior Management, the Board of Trustees and others as necessary.
- Present financial information to the Board of Trustees and the College community.
- Able to develop messaging and communications in such a way as to effectively convey complex fiscal information to audiences without financial management backgrounds.
- Serve as liaison to VPs and Divisional Budget Coordinators in all budget-related matters in both planning and execution phases of the budget.
- Provide budgetary training to members of the college community.
- Prepare reports to project and illustrate potential financial outcomes and impacts for scenarios and opportunities as they arise.
- Recommend and draft institutional policies relating to resource allocation.
- Assist the Comptroller and other relevant college officials in the preparation of the fiscal year-end financial statements and other fiscal year/calendar year-end state and federal reporting requirements.
- Represent the VP/CFO on all budget related matters within the College community.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred with an emphasis in Financial Management, Business Administration or a closely related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience.
- Experience with automated financial systems required, experience with Banner Financial System.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in fiscal management and planning.
- Demonstrated strength in communication skills and proficiency in oral and written expression.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of MMARS state accounting system.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP).
- Understanding of higher education principles, practices and procedures
Additional Information:
Position Status: Full-Time, Benefited, Non-Unit Professional position
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: $87,732.45 - $114,049.98 commensurate with education and experience
Worksite: Assignments will include all Massasoit sites and additional locations as necessary.
