Major/Essential Functions
In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.
As a faculty member in the Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management, you will be expected to:
- Contribute to the teaching mission of the department.
- Mentor graduate students.
- Develop a record of peer-reviewed/funded research.
- Provide service to the department, college, and university.
Required Qualifications
- An earned (no later than August 31, 2026) doctoral degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a closely related field.
- Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a closely related field for at least one semester, which could be as a graduate student as the instructor of record.
- Expertise in one or more areas of kinesiology with a preference for biomechanics, neuromechanics, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed research.
- Demonstrated ability to seek and apply for external research funding.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
- Experience developing and teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in biomechanics, neuromechanics, or closely related courses.
- Experience developing and teaching online courses in one or more areas of kinesiology.
- A focused line of research in musculoskeletal biomechanics, neuromechanics, or a closely related field, with emphasis on the foundations of healthy and/or disordered human movement, the promotion, maintenance, or restoration of health through movement, or similar.
- Experience with three-dimensional motion capture, force platforms and force-instrumented treadmills, and immersive virtual reality technologies.
- A record of external funding as a graduate student or a post-doctoral researcher.
