Position Announcement


Utah Valley University is seeking a creative and organized Events Coordinator to support the mission of the Entrepreneurship Institute. This position plays a key role in engaging students and promoting entrepreneurial initiatives by overseeing event planning, marketing, and communication strategies. The Events Coordinator designs branded marketing assets, manages social media channels, and ensures consistent messaging across all platforms.

With responsibility for coordinating more than 25 events each academic year, this role offers the opportunity to collaborate with students, faculty, and departments across campus. Summary of Responsibilities


  • Events Assist in planning, organizing, and executing institute events, including workshops, speaker series, competitions, and networking events + per academic year. Coordinate event logistics, including room reservations, catering, AV needs, setup, and vendor coordination. Capture photos and videos during events for post-event marketing and documentation.
  • Communications Manage and grow the Entrepreneurship Institute's social media presence Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc. by developing, scheduling, and posting content aligned with institute initiatives. Write clear and engaging copy for social media posts, newsletters, website updates, and event promotions. Respond to student and community inquiries on digital platforms in a professional and timely manner.
  • Marketing Assist in the creation of marketing assets for events and programs, including flyers, digital signage, social media graphics, and email campaigns. Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all materials in alignment with UVU guidelines. Track and analyze marketing metrics to assess the effectiveness of outreach efforts and inform future strategy.
  • Other Duties as Assigned Support additional institute initiatives and projects to advance the mission of the Entrepreneurship Institute and the Woodbury School of Business. Assist with general office support and collaborative projects as needed


Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with two years of experience in event management or a combination of educations and experience related to Summary of Duties totaling four years.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, or a related field. Experience in social media management, event planning, or marketing in a professional or educational setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge
  • Knowledge of marketing principles, social media management, and event planning practices.
  • Familiarity with branding standards and content creation for digital and print platforms.
  • Understanding of basic photography and video capture for promotional purposes.
Skills
  • Skilled in creating visually appealing marketing materials using design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and social media platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging content development and professional correspondence.
Abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and campus partners.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain a positive and professional demeanor while representing the Entrepreneurship Institute.
