General Position Description:
Supports the teacher preparation and re-certification operations by collecting and processing student information, maintaining files, generating reports, and processing data required for compliance with the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE). Participates in the coordination of special teacher programs and application processes. Assists office staff, responds to program inquiries, and maintains online information support.

Salary Range: $16.72 per hour
Essential Job Functions:
1. Assembles, verifies, and enters course and instruction information into the college computer system.
2. Enters student actions and rolls grades into the college computer system.
3. Prepares state certification vouchers to certify program completion.
4. Creates and maintains files, records, and documents, including those for each teacher preparation class. Provides course overrides, student attributes, enter testing dates and transcripts into the College computer system.
5. Coordinates the registration and scheduling process for special training courses. Answers questions from prospective students, processes registration information, verifies the eligibility of students, complies class information, and prepares various reports.
6. Assists with the application process for new advanced specialized instructors, to include: collecting and verifying application documents; entering applicant information; and forwarding completed application information to the FLDOE of program completion.
7. Assists with the coordination and internship processes for any interns assigned to Orange and Osceola county schools.
8. Creates and maintains databases and spreadsheets. Inputs and retrieves data and creates reports as required.
9. Responds to in-person, online, and telephone inquiries. Assists with a variety of student service questions.
10. Applies knowledge of admissions and records policies, practices, and procedures as they relate to community colleges, teacher preparation programs, and FLDOE requirements.
11. Processes special requests from faculty, staff, and students.
12. Interfaces with local school boards to monitor current and future registration and course needs.
13. Assists with filing, telephone, fax, and duplicating.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Education:

Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Preferred Type of Experience:
Admissions and/or records experience.
Customer service, data entry, and retrieval experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of FLDOE teacher certification requirements, higher education institutions, admissions and records policies, practices, and procedures, and the mission of community colleges.
Knowledge of personal computers and select software.
Skill in effectively communicating orally.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and make decisions.
Ability to accurately enter and verify detailed information.
Ability to interpret and apply FLDOE requirements for admission into a teacher preparation program.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse community and meet the needs of diverse student populations.
General Working Conditions:
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.
