Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the certification of tuition classifications
- Oversees the certification of lawful presence verification
- Oversees the certification of immunizations
- Oversees the certification of legal name verification
- Oversees the out of state tuition waiver processes
- Manages documentation for the certification processes which includes writing new and modifying existing policies and procedures
- Responsible for collecting, reporting, and maintaining data in systems of records
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Understands and has thorough and working knowledge of University System of Georgia (USG), and KSU regulations and the intent of the rules to ensure compliance
Job Summary
Performs registrar duties with principal responsibility for one substantive area of the Registrar's Office. Manages personnel, student records, catalog, schedule, registration, compliance, degree audits and/or awarding. Adheres to academic, state, and federal regulations and delivers professional and exceptional customer service to students, parents, families, faculty, and administration.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates all student processes related to registrar functions
2. Responsible for transfer and test credit evaluation and degree applicability while maintaining system involving these processes
3. Actively engages with management team, proposing ideas, and solutions for successful operational progress
4. Responsible for the supervision and performance management of assigned staff
5. Works collaboratively with academic departments and serves on various division and university committees
6. Provides oversight to ensure processes and systems are efficient, effective, provides data integrity, and meets compliance requirements
7. Provides key strategic leadership in enhancing current processes and in implementing system improvements that are reflective of service delivery, ease of functionality, and incorporate best practices
8. Coordinates system developments and discovery efforts in close collaboration with registrar leadership team and campus partners
9. Resolves student degree audits, related concerns, and issues
10. Provides assessment of office policies, procedures, and programs, setting office goals and evaluation of staff performance
11. Manages the process to verify that courses taken at KSU and other institutions will apply to KSU degree requirements (in collaboration with academic advisors)
12. Assists with curriculum and academic records cleanup and updates of student records
13. Provides training to team members and campus community
14. Assists with student information system and other software updates, upgrades, and implementations
15. Identifies and creates data queries to support and enhance procedures and processes within the department
16. Executes reports related to record audits, interprets results, and delivers analysis and needed resolutions
17. Interprets KSU academic progress policies and implement appropriate procedures
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field
Required Experience
Five (5) years of experience related to the maintenance of student records.

An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Able to identify reports needed for analytical analysis and utilize reports to improve decision making and data accuracy

Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines in sometimes high-pressured environment while maintaining diplomacy and efficiency
KNOWLEDGE
Working knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and willingness to abide by its rules and procedures
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, critical thinking, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
High proficiency in using computer applications for data analysis
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service and personal skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
