Position Announcement


At Utah Valley University, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our diverse student body by helping prospective students and their families navigate the path to higher education. In this position, you will design and implement recruitment strategies, provide outreach and training on admissions and financial aid, and foster meaningful connections with middle and high schools, counselors, and community partners. Your work will directly support access to education by empowering students and families with knowledge and resources.

This role also offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by mentoring UVU Ambassadors, collaborating with faculty and staff on inclusive practices, and leading events that focus on supporting at-risk and underrepresented groups. Summary of Responsibilities


  • Professional Development: Trains UVU Ambassadors, college/university faculty, and staff on current inclusion policies and practices. Attends national and state conferences to keep up-to-date on best practices for inclusion efforts in higher education. Look for opportunities to receive federal and state training for grant retrieval and writing.
  • Advising: Provides recruitment counseling, planning, and advising to potential students from diverse backgrounds. Assists students in the completion of their admissions application and provides instruction regarding applications for financial assistance.
  • Presentation Skills: Creates and delivers presentations and curriculum across all levels, i.e., middle school, junior high school, high school, college, and professional educators, as well as customizes messaging to various non-traditional groups, such as single mothers, underrepresented in higher education, and economically disadvantaged.
  • Event Planning: Organizes and coordinates on-campus events with a strong focus on serving at-risk populations such as refugees and immigrants, first-generation, economically disadvantaged, and rural students.
  • Reports: Tracks and reports data gathered through working with all prospective students from traditionally marginalized groups, including both outreach efforts and on-campus events for Prospective Student Services.
  • Strategic Publications: Creates and distributes resource materials specifically for underserved/underrepresented student populations. Participates in the development of student recruitment and retention plans, strategies, and written materials.


Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree or any combination of post high school education and experience totaling four years. Must work evenings and weekends as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:
Valid driver's license required.

  • Considerable knowledge of academic marketing and recruitment methods.
  • Knowledge of effective principles used in developing tailored presentations for under-served populations.
