The Department of Classical & Modern Languages & Literatures in the College of Arts & Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Lecturer in German to begin September 1, 2026.

Major/Essential Functions
At Texas Tech University, the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer title designates a full-time, non-tenure-acquiring role with primary duties in teaching organized classes and/or instructional labs. In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate level. As a faculty member in the German program within the Department of Classical & Modern Languages & Literatures, you will be expected to:
1)Contribute to the teaching mission of CMLL and the German program
2)Promote the study of German on campus and beyond
3)Assist in program-building efforts
4)Train and oversee graduate part-time instructors and teaching assistants in German

Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in German Studies or German Applied Linguistics
Native or near-native fluency in German
Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching
Familiarity with language pedagogy
