Salary Range: $53,183 - $70,911 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary

Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Operations and in conjunction with the Director, this position will be primarily responsible for oversight of all supply chain and technology aspects of UCCS Dining and Hospitality Services (DHS). This includes ordering coordination, inventory management, item quality control, food cost logistics, and oversight of material handling logistics and all technology systems within dining operations.



The Culinary Systems Manager will work closely with suppliers and technology vendors to build relationships, ensure orders are delivered, discuss price savings and food saving initiatives, and coordinate usage of innovative foods and products. This position also works directly with DHS Chefs and Managers to ensure all ordering needs are met. The ability and willingness to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required. Must be committed to student employment and professional development opportunities for students as this position oversees up to 5 student employees.

Essential Functions

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate ordering, inventory management, and material handling processes.
  • Monitor item quality control and food cost logistics to maintain efficiency and cost savings.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships; negotiate pricing, delivery, and food-saving initiatives.
  • Research and implement innovative products and sustainable sourcing practices.
  • Support Chefs and Managers in ensuring all purchasing needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Manage DHS technology systems, including CBORD "NetMenu", and point-of-sale systems.
  • Maintain the CBORD NetMenu system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date recipes, item databases, nutritional information, allergens, and costing.
  • Oversee recipe and item maintenance, working with Chefs and Managers to ensure menu accuracy and consistency across units.
  • Lead and coordinate the inventory process across DHS units, ensuring proper setup, accuracy, and timely reconciliation within CBORD.
  • Oversee setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT assets such as desktops, laptops, printers, and company phones.
  • Serve as primary liaison with the Office of Information Technology to align DHS technology with campus standards.
  • Provide training and support to DHS staff on system functionality.

Qualifications
  • To be considered for this role, you must possess a bachelor's degree in business, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or other related fields. Year-for-year experience will be considered as a substitute for the degree.
  • The ideal candidate possesses a valid ServSafe certification.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating dining technology, systems, and supply chain initiatives is required.
  • Experience within a dining environment in higher education is preferred.
