The Department of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month tenured/tenure-track, Assistant/Associate/Professor position in Astronomy to begin September 1, 2026.

Major/Essential Functions
In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.

Required Qualifications

PhD in Astronomy, Physics or related field.
A record indicative of the ability to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
A strong record of publication and strong potential for obtaining external research funding.
Demonstrated interest in and capacity for doing outreach and service tasks.

Preferred Qualifications
A record indicative of conducting research that compliments current areas by introducing new topics while fostering productive interactions with existing faculty.
