Job Summary
The University of Colorado Boulder's Campus Human Resources is seeking an experienced program director to lead the campus performance management framework, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and processes. The position will drive the design, development, implementation, communication and oversight of the performance management process for University Staff. This role will assist with training for unit HR leaders and supervisors on how to effectively evaluate performance, set goals and expectations, and provide feedback. This position will run the CU Boulder Officer evaluation process which includes oversight of the process, administration and scheduling of reviews.
This role involves planning, project management, project team leadership, data analysis, collaborator communication and training to ensure programs align with organizational goals and drive positive employee outcomes. Additional duties in this capacity include evaluating and further developing efficient systems for collecting performance data and looking for the best industry practices that boost performance. The program director works with internal campus partners to create, implement and communicate updates regarding the program.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Lead the performance management process for University Staff, and Officer level positions including the analysis, review, design and implementation of changes to the process.
- Work with leadership and campus partners to design, improve, and implement new and updated performance management systems for University Staff, including goal setting, feedback mechanisms and the review process.
- Build expertise in CU Boulder's annual performance process and related technology, using historical data and processes to understand previous programs and capture user feedback to inform improvements.
- Surveys comparable higher education organizations to learn standard methodologies.
- Plan, implement and monitor project plans for performance programs, tracking achievements, dependencies, and partner updates to keep workstreams aligned, on schedule and within budget.
- Support troubleshooting and documentation needs, and assist with timely communication and updates.
- Serve as the first point of contact for program-related questions, monitoring channels and advancing issues as needed.
- Collaborate with various partners to ensure program adoption, address concerns, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Work with the learning and development team to develop and deliver training programs to educate managers and staff on performance management processes, tools, and standard methodologies.
- Be responsible for critical vendor relationships that support the performance management process.
- Create and maintain templates, toolkits, and resources to support participants throughout the performance cycle.
- Collaborate with HRIT to thoroughly learn and understand the performance management technology, its impact on staff, leaders and the process and how to improve this technology to meet campus needs.
- Collaborate with campus partners and leaders to test and document performance management systems, ensuring clarity and online usability for all users.
- Lead and support organizational change initiatives related to performance management, ensuring high levels of adoption.

This position offers a hybrid work modality with up to 2 days per week on campus.
What We Can Offer
The annual hiring range for this position is $95,000-$115,000.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (HR, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Psychology, etc.), or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience in program management, HR operations, or talent management, with direct exposure and oversight of performance management process and systems. Experience implementing a new performance management process or changing a performance management process.
- Experience supporting and evaluating Human Resources technology such as technology used for performance management.
- Experience leading a project and project management team of partners to collaborate and make recommendations.

- Ability to thrive independently and as part of a team.
- Collaborative approach and experience partnering across functions such as Compensation, HR Partners, Talent Acquisition, and campus wide staff and faculty leaders.
