The Department of Computer Science in the Whitacre College of Engineering at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Research Assistant Professor position to begin on December 15, 2025.

Major/Essential Functions
At Texas Tech University, the Research Professor title designates an individual appointed, usually full time, to a research position. In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels in the area of research.
As a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science, you will be expected to: 1) contribute to the teaching mission of the department through mentorship of graduate students; 2) develop a record of peer-reviewed/funded research; 3) provide service to the department, college, and university.
Required Qualifications
- Have a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science;
- Have at least one-year full-time post-doctoral experience;
- Have experience in teaching a semester-long scheduled course or teaching multiple lectures for a scheduled course;
- Have a track record of research excellence in areas of high-performance computing as demonstrated by publications in top venues in Computer Science and potential for obtaining competitive, external research funding;
- Be able to take service duties for the department, college, and university as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply: candidates with strong background in high performance computing cluster design, performance testing, system integration, user access and support, cluster management and operations, and maintenance tasks.
