Position Description
Performs supervisory and coordinative work in the operation of a specific program or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Assist with all planning, preparation, facilitation, and execution of academic, theatre, speech & debate and athletic invitational and regional events to ensure meeting of CAE, university, and UIL standards.
  • Assist with the securing rooms and venue reservations and technological support for events.
  • Responsible for working with caterers and vendors for events.
  • Oversee all gate/ticket sales at events.
  • Assist team registrations at all events.
  • Assist with planning and facilitation of summer camps, including required training.
  • Assist with compilation of post event reports.
  • Responsible for collection and maintaining participants' waiver forms related to invitational academic meets.
  • Responsible for updating website and social media sites.
  • Serve as back up for UIL Business Manager with tasks related to purchasing, procurement payment and reconciliation, payment of contracted workers, and inventory during peak events season.
  • Nights and weekends are required.


Required Qualifications
High school graduation plus five years progressively responsible related experience; additional related education may exchange for required experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree plus one-year related experience; OR a combination of education
  • and/or related experience to equal five years.
  • Experience with Texas Tech Systems such as AdAstra, Banner, Cognos Reporting, Candex, and Tech Buy
