Major/Essential Functions
In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a dynamic student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with a breadth of student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.

Required Qualifications

Must hold a doctoral-level degree (PhD, DPhil, DSc) in mathematics (pure or applied), statistics or a closely related field.
Demonstrated excellence in an established program of research and scholarly activities, commensurate with appointment at the rank of Full Professor.
Established experience in academic administration, as evidenced by leadership roles.
Evidence of clear commitment to fostering evidence-based teaching, best-practice mentoring, and engaged learning opportunities.

This position is designated as involving access to critical infrastructure systems and/or research, as defined by Texas Executive Order GA-48. As such, candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment. Employees are required to comply with all applicable state and federal regulations related to the protection of critical infrastructure. Ongoing employment is dependent upon maintaining eligibility for access and successfully passing periodic security and compliance reviews.

Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:

Demonstrated experience coordinating with administration, staff, students, and faculty to accomplish departmental, college, and institutional goals.
An established record of external funding.
An established record of excellent teaching practices as demonstrated by proposed plans in a teaching statement and/or participation in teaching professional development activities.
Administrative experience that includes maintaining significant budgets and awards and the ability to work successfully with professional budget staff.
A record of leadership in initiatives and activities promoting student academic success, especially those with strong implications for career opportunities or career outcomes.
A clear ability to promote and foster innovative activities that contribute significantly to one or more of Texas Tech's strategic initiatives, especially the push for AAU membership.
