Major/Essential Functions
In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a dynamic student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with a breadth of student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold a doctoral-level degree (PhD, DPhil, DSc) in mathematics (pure or applied), statistics or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated excellence in an established program of research and scholarly activities, commensurate with appointment at the rank of Full Professor.
- Established experience in academic administration, as evidenced by leadership roles.
- Evidence of clear commitment to fostering evidence-based teaching, best-practice mentoring, and engaged learning opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
- Demonstrated experience coordinating with administration, staff, students, and faculty to accomplish departmental, college, and institutional goals.
- An established record of external funding.
- An established record of excellent teaching practices as demonstrated by proposed plans in a teaching statement and/or participation in teaching professional development activities.
- Administrative experience that includes maintaining significant budgets and awards and the ability to work successfully with professional budget staff.
- A record of leadership in initiatives and activities promoting student academic success, especially those with strong implications for career opportunities or career outcomes.
- A clear ability to promote and foster innovative activities that contribute significantly to one or more of Texas Tech's strategic initiatives, especially the push for AAU membership.
