Job Summary:
Department of Pediatrics, Section of Nutrition has an opening for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Assistant Professor position. The Department is seeking an early researcher to further expand and complement its program of extramurally funded basic, translational, clinical, and outcomes research in the field of the World Health Organization designated spectrum of nutrition - with an emphasis on interventions, cancer survivorship and precision nutrition.
This position is full-time (40h/week) appointment at the Assistant Professor. This position is a tenure-track eligible, regular series faculty position. Duties will include independent research, teaching, scholarly activities, and service responsibilities.
Established in 1993, the CU School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics Section of Nutrition was the first independent program dedicated to addressing and promoting best practices for nutrition and physical activity with a focus on disease, health and well-being for infants and children.
Through clinical services, research, education, community outreach and advocacy, the section offers a wealth of expertise across all areas of Nutrition Science. Areas of emphasis include micronutrients, precision nutrition, developmental origins of adult disease, early infant feeding, epigenetics and global health. The Section of Nutrition has a strong commitment to research and education. In 2024, the section had over $24 million in research funding; and their nutrition training programs include the nation's longest-serving NIH-funded T32 program.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated research experience in the determinants of field of nutritional science and related conditions.
- Demonstrated ability to train research team members and trainees in research design and techniques related to specific area of scientific emphasis.
- Ability to obtain peer-reviewed extramural funding.
- Emerging experience with national and international research networks
- Emerging experience with leadership at local levels
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$130,000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
