Job Summary


The Boulder Optical Laboratory for Translational Science (BOLTS) seeks a temporary employee to support research in advanced optical and acoustic imaging. This position provides hands-on experience in a research environment focused on high-speed and high-resolution biomedical imaging technologies.

Who We Are


The Boulder Optical Laboratory for Translational Science (BOLTS) pioneers innovative optical imaging and sensing technologies to accelerate the translation of fundamental discoveries into impactful clinical and engineering solutions. Our multidisciplinary research integrates cutting-edge light-based methods, including photoacoustics, quantum imaging, and ultrafast optical techniques, with advanced computational approaches. BOLTS is dedicated to bridging the gap between foundational science and real-world applications, transforming the landscape of biomedical diagnostics, monitoring, and therapeutic interventions.


What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be


The selected candidate will contribute to experimental setup, data collection, and data processing for projects involving photoacoustic imaging, optical imaging, and quantitative image analysis.




What We Can Offer

The hire rate for this temporary, part-time position is $22.00 per hour.

Benefits

Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

What We Require


Applicants must have completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Prior experience in a research laboratory, either through coursework, independent study, or internship, is required.


What You Will Need

  • Strong foundational knowledge in physics, including optics and electromagnetism.
  • Ability to perform careful experimental work with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in data analysis using scientific computing tools such as MATLAB or Python.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a research setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new methodologies related to optical and acoustic imaging.
