Job Summary
Technical Product Trainers
Conduct face-to-face and/or remote training classes for customers and/or employees on the features and operation of products. Design and develop training programs and plans. Work with training materials specialist to ensure training materials are current and effective. Prepare training materials and documentation for customers. Remain current on product trends both within the organization and among competitors. Maximize effectiveness by researching training methodologies, learning tools and practices. Explain complex product information to non-technical audiences. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. May work with vendors to adapt existing training software.
Responsible for educational technology training with Utah Education Network. The person in this position will work with teachers, faculty and administrators across Utah to support effective technology use in schools, teach online courses and virtual workshops, conduct in person workshops, develop original presentations and courses, and expand use of state licensed educational software through other supports.

Prepare training materials and documentation for customers. Remain current on product trends both within the organization and among competitors. Maximize effectiveness by researching training methodologies, learning tools and practices. Explain complex product information to non-technical audiences. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. May work with vendors to adapt existing training software. Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline. Conducts work assignments of increasing complexity, under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.This is a Developing-Level position in the General Professional track.

Design and develop training programs and plans. Work with training materials specialist to ensure training materials are current and effective. Prepare training materials and documentation for customers. Remain current on product trends both within the organization and among competitors. Maximize effectiveness by researching training methodologies, learning tools and practices. Explain complex product information to non-technical audiences. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. May work with vendors to adapt existing training software. Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline. Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment.Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.This is a Career-Level position in the General Professional track.
Job Responsibilities:
Work with K-12 and Higher Ed. to develop and implement training.
Support special projects that promote effective learning and adoption of state software products
Effectively design and deliver online courses through CanvasLMS
Support departmental goals including project planning, implementation and promotion.
RepresentUENproducts, resources and professional development at conferences, seminars and meetings as needed.
Build skills while working with a collaborative team
Travel throughout Utah using state vehicle and occasional out of state travel
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
Technical Product Trainer, II: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
Technical Product Trainer, III: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences
Masters degree in Education, Educational Technology, or related field preferred and 5+ years experience.
Seeking a dynamic and engaging individual with exceptional on-camera presence and strong verbal communication skills to create compelling video content and deliver clear, persuasive presentations.
