The School of Education & Human Development at the University of Colorado Denver is a statewide and national leader for educational quality, access and equity across the education lifespan, from birth through higher education. Lecturer - CPE, Continuing and Professional Education (Pool Posting)
What you will do:
Our Office of Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) provides a wide array of courses, an alternative teacher licensure program, certificates, endorsements, workshops and leadership training tailored to meet your professional development needs. The purpose of this posting is to expand our pool of Lecturers available to teach courses for CPE. Lecturers selected from this pool will become vital members of the School's innovative education programs. The School of Education & Human Development will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers for future appointments to temporary, part-time, non-tenure-track positions in Continuing and Professional Education (CPE). Lecturers are generally limited to two courses per term. This will be a semester-by-semester appointment, with the possibility of renewal.
Teaching assignments may fluctuate and are contingent upon the schedule of courses offered each term, the required number of student enrollments in your tentatively scheduled course(s), and budget availability. Thus, we cannot guarantee that you will teach particular courses or that you will actually teach in a given term.
This position involves working closely with students where the person may become aware of campus safety issues that may need to be reported as part of CU's commitment to compliance with the Clery Act. The person in this role will receive the related training and be required to submit data once per year to the campus Clery Act team. Undergraduate Lecturer Minimum Qualifications
If the Master's Degree is in an unrelated field, the candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of successful experience in the field related to the course documented on the CV. Candidates need to supply some evidence (e.g., subject matter expertise or leadership expertise) of experience.
Graduate Lecturer Minimum Qualifications
MA Degree Programs
If the terminal degree is in an unrelated field, the candidate must demonstrate experience in the field related to the course documented on the CV Candidates need to supply some evidence of experience (e.g., subject matter expertise or leadership expertise).
If the candidate does not have a terminal degree, the candidate must have a M.A. or M.S. AND a minimum of 5 years of successful experience in the field related to the course documented on the CV. Candidates need to supply some evidence (e.g., teaching experience, school principal, board certified counselor, etc.) of experience
PhD, EdD, PsyD Degree Programs
If the doctorate degree is in an unrelated field, the candidate must demonstrate at least 18 graduate level credit hours in related discipline and/or 5 years' experience in the field related to the course documented on the CV. Candidates need to supply some evidence (e.g., subject matter expertise or leadership expertise) of experience.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $5,125 for a fully-enrolled 3-credit course.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
As of January 1, 2021, Lecturer positions will accrue sick leave at a rate of 0.034 hours per hour worked with a maximum accrual of 48 hours per fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
