About the Department and/or College
Founded in 1925 as one of the university's four original colleges, the College of Arts & Sciences is comprised of 15 departments, offering a wide variety of courses and programs in the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics, physical sciences, and natural sciences. The College has more than 10,000 students enrolled representing more than a quarter of the overall Texas Tech University student population while maintaining a 22:1 student to faculty ratio.


Major/Essential Functions
  • Responsible for greeting visitors at the Deans Suite which includes Deans Office, OSS, Recruiting and Marketing. Informing staff when visitors arrive, and directing visitors to the correct meeting locations.
  • Responsible for answering incoming phone calls to the Deans Suite and directing them to the right person and/or department for assistance.
  • Responsible for opening and closing procedures of the Deans Office Monday through Friday, at 8am and 5pm.
  • Responsible for checking the mail each morning and providing it to the Deans Executive Assistant and distributing to other departments.
  • Responsible for putting in work orders for building maintenance in the Deans Suite and following up with the Executive Assistance for notification of issue.
  • Ordering Office Supplies and Breakroom Supplies
  • Responsible for monitoring conference room calendars for Deans Suite and ensuring that conference rooms are ready for meetings and visitors are directed to the correct conference room for meetings.
  • Assist the Deans office staff with any clerical tasks as needed by Department Heads. For example, preparing conference rooms for meetings, restocking inventory in conference room for beverages and snacks, making copies, restocking copier paper in the copy machines, etc.


Required Qualifications
Completion of high school or the equivalent. Five years office experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

$17.69 - $22.98 - $28.32
