Job Summary
The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District is seeking a PT Instructor, Business for Las Positas College. Applicants will be expected to provide instruction in Accounting, General Business, Business Law, Management, Marketing, International Business, and Small Business Management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Deliver coherent lectures;
2. Teach with imagination, vigor, and clarity;
3. Create assignments that serve instructional goals;
4. Create exams and/or other evaluative assignments that test for mastery of course content;
5. Create course materials that serve instructional goals;
6. Organize course content so that it encompasses authorized course outlines;
7. Identify basic and essential concepts and develop materials and strategies that assist students in understanding core subject matter;
8. Prepare carefully and organize a course which adheres to the objectives and suggested materials listed in the course outline;
9. Meet deadlines for submittal of syllabi, census rosters, and grades;
10. Participate in program and subject area improvement tasks, such as assessing Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs);
11. Primary teaching expertise in Accounting and General Business;
12. Demonstrated ability to design and implement innovative teaching methodologies;
13. Demonstrated ability to adapt instructional techniques to accommodate varied learning styles and a variety of teaching modalities, including distance education;
14. Demonstrated knowledge of methods of online instruction, testing, and evaluation of students;
15. Commitment to working with administrators, faculty, and staff to increase support and success for students;
16. Demonstrated ability to communicate with students, staff, peers, and administrators clearly, effectively, and professionally in both oral and written form;
17. Availability to teach morning, afternoon, evening, online, hybrid, and off-campus classes, when scheduled, as part of the regular teaching assignment;
18. Evidence of a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students including those with physical and learning disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's in business, business management, business administration, accountancy, finance, marketing or business education OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in economics, personnel management, public administration, or Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.) OR Bachelor's in economics with a business emphasis AND Master's in personnel management, public administration, or Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.) OR the equivalent Business Education.
Evidence of understanding of and responsiveness to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, racial and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices within the classroom.

Desirable Qualifications:
1. Ability to teach Accounting;
2. College Teaching Experience;
3. Experience using Canvas LMS.
