About the Department and/or College


Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides administrative support to the Assistant Vice President for Research - HCBL that includes organizing and managing schedules and handling communications.
  • Provides coordination and support for all laboratories within the HCBL.
  • Maintain records and other documentation laboratory compliance as required by federal select agent regulations.
  • Produces reports and grant deliverable documentation in coordination with AVP and laboratory personnel.
  • Handles HCBL purchases through Procurement and works with laboratory directors and managers to ensure timely ordering of laboratory reagents.
  • Manages and reconcile travel for HCBL personnel and reconcile monthly procurement cards.
  • Works with laboratory personnel to ensure the timely scheduling of instrument maintenance and service contracts across all laboratories within the HCBL.
  • Proficiency in quickly adapting to any given situation to maintain a high level of efficiency and professionalism.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications
Completion of high school or the equivalent. Five years office experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Must take and maintain Security Risk Assessment by the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Bioterrorism Risk Assessment Group (BRAG).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in clerical/administrative area.
  • Working knowledge of Banner, Cognos, Chrome River, and Kenexa programs.
  • Previous experience in higher education, fund accounting, state and federal grants, and/or financial reporting.


Pay Range
$17.69 - $22.98 - $28.32
