Job Summary

The Center for Campus Wellness (CCW) is a comprehensive wellness office that provides wellness education, trainings and workshops; victim-survivor advocacy services and support; safer sex services for students; alcohol and other drug support services; wellness coaching; resource navigation; basic needs support, and student involvement opportunities.
CCW seeks a Manager for Health Education Programs who will provide mid-level leadership and operational oversight for the CCW's prevention education and health promotion services and programs. This position supervises professional staff, manages daily program operations, ensures fidelity to best practices, and supports the delivery of evidence-informed prevention education across multiple topic areas including, but not limited to, harm reduction, mental health, violence prevention, STI/HIV testing, and substance use education. The Manager contributes to strategic planning, cross-campus coordination, and program evaluation with the leadership team.

This position will have primary responsibility for:
  • Operational Leadership (30%): Provides day-to-day management and oversight of health promotion, health education, and prevention program operations.
  • Staff Supervision & Development (25%): Leads, supervises, and supports professional staff delivering core prevention and health education services.
  • Program Coordination & Delivery (20%): Ensures consistent, high-quality implementation of prevention curricula, workshops, trainings, and service protocols.
  • Assessment, Data, & Reporting (10%): Supports data collection, evaluation processes, and impact reporting to guide program improvement and demonstrate outcomes.
  • Campus Partnerships & Collaboration (10%): Serves as an operational liaison to campus partners to coordinate services, trainings, and shared prevention goals.
  • Other directives as assigned (5%)


This position will report directly to the CCW Associate Director of Prevention Education.
The selected candidate will need to stay current with national and emerging best practices in behavior-change strategies, health-promoting campus environments, prevention science, and public health approaches relevant to college student wellbeing. This includes monitoring trends, adapting programming based on new research or guidance, and ensuring that services align with professional standards in the field. The role requires a commitment to continuous learning and applying evidence-informed methods to strengthen the effectiveness and relevance of our programs.

We operate with a hybrid work schedule which includes the possibility of 1-2 days for remote work pending job duties and approval from the direct supervisor. At various times of the year, remote working days may not be approved if on-campus priorities and programs require in-person attendance.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate professional staff delivering health promotion and prevention services.
  • Oversee daily operations for harm reduction, STI/HIV testing, mental health promotion, violence prevention, substance education programs, and other health education focuses.
  • Maintain and update standard operating procedures to support consistent and effective program delivery.
  • Manage workflow, schedules, staffing coverage, and resource needs for assigned program areas.
  • Oversee wellness coaching services, including service protocols, documentation processes, and quality assurance.
  • Coordinate the intake, planning, and scheduling of workshops, trainings, and campus presentation requests.
  • Ensure that all programs are delivered using evidence-informed, responsive, and relevant approaches.
  • Support the collection, tracking, and analysis of program utilization and outcome data.
  • Contribute to the creation of mid-year and annual reports summarizing program reach, trends, and impacts.
  • Collaborate with campus partners, departments, and units to support joint programming and operational coordination.
  • Oversee the ordering, inventory, and distribution of program materials, supplies, and educational resources.
  • Identify opportunities to improve program processes, accessibility, and effectiveness.
  • Assist in onboarding, training, and supporting new professional staff members.
  • Serve as a resource and operational point of contact for staff, faculty, and campus stakeholders.
  • Respond to emerging health promotion needs and adjust program operations accordingly.
  • Support the team in developing responsive, relevant, and timely new programming based on emerging trends, university priorities, student needs, and team directives.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
  • Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department's area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Master's degree in a related area may be preferred.
  • Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.



Department-Specific Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently; demonstrate strong communication (both verbal and written) skills; demonstrate evidence-based and innovative program development, coordination, facilitation, and assessment skills.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in public health, health promotion, social work, educational leadership, business administration or a related area
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes to effectively monitor and develop direct reporting staff and to ensure the smooth operation of department goals. Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required.
  • Experience in collegiate wellness initiatives and health education curriculum development for college-aged students.
  • Wellness Coaching certification required or on track to complete certification within 6 months.
