Job Summary


The Division of Student Life Employee Experience Coordinator position is responsible for being a resource to Student Life departments to perform and provide guidance on staff and student-related personnel, position, leave, and payroll processes. As a first point of contact for our Division partners, the SL Employee Experience Coordinator recommends and advises on general HR issues related to University staff, Classified Staff, Temporary Employees, Retirees, and Student Employees. This position also advises on general HR questions that arise from our Division constituents, including but not limited to, leave, payroll, time- off, hiring, and onboarding. This position will provide leave support (FMLA/FAMLI etc.) to the SL Employee Experience Lead Coordinator and Leave Specialist. This position will liaise with the central campus Human Resources Service Center (HRSC) and will also consult with other Human Resources centers of excellence to coordinate a wide range of HR services to Division constituents.

Student Affairs also has shared services departments that support the work and staff of our student-facing areas, including areas like assessment, business services, financial planning, human resources, marketing communications, and information technology (IT).

Student Life Employee Experience provides information and resources to support staff in the Division of Student Life, including in the areas of performance management, professional development, and more. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be


Human Resources Transactional Services
  • Liaise with the campus Human Resources Service Center (HRSC) to ensure all payroll/personnel transactions are completed accurately and timely for all permanent, student, and temporary staff. This may include reviewing, correcting, and uploading payroll from Kronos Dimensions timekeeping system.
  • Liaise with HRSC for all student employment hiring within the division.
  • Review bi-weekly and monthly payroll completed by the HR Service Center to ensure no payroll discrepancies.
  • Work with the HRSC to fix any payroll discrepancies and communicate with the employee regarding these discrepancies and how they will be rectified.
  • Interpret and explain Human Resources policies at the system, campus, and Division level, procedures, laws, standards, and regulations to answer inquiries and provide information for general HR inquiries and actions.
  • Advise on general HR questions that arise from our Division constituents, including but not limited to, leave, payroll, time- off, administrative leave policies, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Complete PET's for Division constituents when needed.
  • Train supervisors and employees on timekeeping systems (MyLeave and Kronos Dimensions) and standard processes for recording time within the Division.
  • Communicate with Division constituents to relay campus, Division, and department messaging around HR actions, processes, and procedures.
  • Work with SL Employee Experience consultant team to ensure new hires/promotions are entered accurately and work with HRSC for any corrections.
  • Process one-time payments (Additional Pay Form).
  • Upload pertinent documents into personnel files through OnBase.
  • Coordinate and process leave audits when requested or during terminations/resignations/retirements etc.
  • Initiate exit interviews for permanent staff.

Customer Service
  • Proactively develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with Division constituents.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to Division constituents in both email response and in-person consultation.
  • Responses that are strategic in nature, while identifying specific policies/procedures that were referenced to determine advisement.
  • Create a customer service feedback form to ensure we are meeting all customers' needs and making changes when needed.
  • Work with Student Life Employee Experience leadership to identify and set up a ticketing system that all HR general inquiries will be routed through and tracked.

Leave Management and Support
  • Responsible for understanding FMLA/FAMLI/OJI and related leave processes and communicating these processes with employees and supervisors in a manner that is clear and easy to understand for someone who may not be familiar with regulatory terms. This includes the use of pay codes in the Kronos timekeeping system as it relates to the leave types.
  • Supports the SL Employee Experience Lead Coordinator and Leave Specialist in providing FMLA/FAMLI/ OJI customer service in person and via email regarding their case and needs.
  • Work collaboratively with campus and system partners on leave cases to ensure leave is offered when needed, leave options are explained to the employee and appropriate resources are given.

Other Duties
  • Participate in committees as appropriate.
  • Assist Division payroll team when needed.


What You Should Know


This position will work a hybrid schedule with at least 3 days in office. It will also be a limited-term position through May 31, 2027, and we will re-evaluate needs to potentially extend beyond this date based on funds and needs.


What We Can Offer

  • The pay for this position is $54,600.
