Job Summary:
The CU College of Nursing is seeking a strong faculty leader to serve as the Sr. Assistant Dean of Academic Operations. The ideal candidate would be qualified to hold a faculty appointment with Tenure or within the IRC-Instructional Series at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor with dedicated release time to serve as the Sr. Assistant Dean of Academic Operations (an administrative faculty appointment). Service and scholarship to the university and the college are expected of all faculty members. Also, faculty rank will depend on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and scholarship.
The Sr. Assistant Dean of Academic Operations is responsible for the integration of technological systems within the College of Nursing's Office of Academic Programs (OAP). The Sr. Assistant Dean is accountable for leading a team responsible for academic workflow processes that support the strategic initiatives of the College's Office of Academic Programs (OAP), including Instructional Design and will collaborate on related workflows with other teams in OAP and in the college.
The Sr. Assistant Dean of Academic Operations reports to the Associate Dean for Academic Programs and will collaborate with other leaders in the college, including Assistant Deans, Specialty Directors, Division Chairs, as well as campus & university leadership as appropriate. This position's primary work location is the Anschutz Medical Campus, Aurora, Colorado, and will also have teaching responsibilities as needed on the Legacy Campus, in Lone Tree, Colorado.

Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:
Associate Teaching Professor - $115,000 to $130,000 annually at 1.0 FTE
Teaching Professor - $130,000 to $150,000 annually at 1.0 FTE
Associate Professor (Tenure Eligible) - $120,000 to $140,000 annually at 1.0 FTE
Professor (Tenure Eligible) - $140,000 to $170,000 annually at 1.0 FTE
The initial workload for this faculty administrative role can be configured to best support the finalist's and college's needs, negotiable between the hiring authority and finalist
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.

Minimum Qualifications:
Faculty rank is determined at the end of the interview process based on a comprehensive review of candidate qualifications and experience compared to established College of Nursing faculty criteria.
This is an open rank faculty appointment and could be categorized as Associate Teaching Professor, Teaching Professor, Associate Professor (Tenure Eligible), or Professor (Tenure Eligible) based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Associate Teaching Professor:
o Substitution: A direct-entry master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution of higher education.
- A record of demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, collegial collaboration, and commitment to a program of scholarship to qualify for the rank of Associate Teaching Professor in the Instructional Series: Teaching Professor Track.
o Minimum qualifications for appointment at the rank of Associate Teaching Professor include recognition as an expert teacher and sustained commitment to a program of scholarship.
- Experience serving in an administrative faculty appointment and/or leadership position related to academics.
- Experience in curriculum development.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring students, ideally including students with diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Eligible to obtain an unencumbered RN license in Colorado.
Teaching Professor:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school/college.
o Substitution: A direct-entry master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution of higher education.
- An earned doctorate in an appropriate field of science, nursing, social science, education, or related area from an accredited institution of higher education and in accordance with Board of Nursing requirements.
- A record of demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, collegial collaboration, and commitment to a program of scholarship to qualify for the rank of Teaching Professor in the Instructional Series: Teaching Professor Track.
o Minimum qualifications for appointment at the rank of Teaching Professor include recognition as a master teacher, sustained leadership in teaching, expertise in curriculum development and teaching innovations, and a sustained commitment to peer reviewed scholarly work.
- Experience serving in an administrative faculty appointment and/or leadership position related to academics.
- Experience in curriculum development.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring students, ideally including students with diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Eligible to obtain an unencumbered RN license in Colorado.
Associate Professor (Tenure Eligible):
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school/college.
o Substitution: A direct-entry master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution of higher education.
- An earned research doctorate in an appropriate field of science, nursing, social science, education, or related area from an accredited institution of higher education and in accordance with Board of Nursing requirements.
- A record of scholarship and experience to qualify for the rank of Associate Professor (Tenure Eligible);
- Minimum qualifications for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor include an extensive and continuing body of research published in peer-reviewed scholarly journals.
- Experience serving in an administrative faculty appointment and/or leadership position related to academics.
- Evidence of focused area of research.
- Experience in curriculum development.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring students, ideally including students with diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Experience in securing funding via grants and contracts, as evidenced by past achievements. This could include pilot funding, intramural funding, or similar.
- Eligible to obtain an unencumbered RN license in Colorado.
Professor (Tenure Eligible):
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school/college.
- Substitution: A direct-entry master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution of higher education.
- An earned research doctorate in an appropriate field of science, nursing, social science, education, or related area from an accredited institution of higher education and in accordance with Board of Nursing requirements.
- A record of scholarship and experience to qualify for the rank of Professor (Tenure Eligible);
- Minimum qualifications for appointment at the rank of Professor include a proven track record of extramural funding, substantial scholarship in peer reviewed journals, national recognition for program of research, and leadership in professional organizations.
- Experience serving in an administrative faculty appointment and/or leadership position related to academics.
- Evidence of focused area of research.
- Experience in curriculum development.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring students, ideally including students with diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Experience in securing funding via grants and contracts, as evidenced by past achievements. This could include pilot funding, intramural funding, or similar.
- Eligible to obtain an unencumbered RN license in Colorado
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of experience serving in an administrative faculty appointment and/or leadership position related to academics.
- Experience supervising professional staff.
- Experience with regulatory, accreditation, and certification compliance.
- Experience with supporting the completion and submission of national reports related to academics.
