The Trades, Technology, & Community Learning Campus (TTC) of the Long Beach Community College District is seeking highly qualified and mission-driven individuals to serve as our Director, Campus Initiatives and Community Engagement! This critical leadership role represents and advocates for TTC within the broader district and community by coordinating campus-wide operations, fostering strategic partnerships, and supporting the specialized needs of our career technical education (CTE) and community learning programs.
The Director will serve as the TTC Administrator's designee providing operational leadership, facilitating communication across academic and administrative areas, and ensuring the campus's unique mission and infrastructure needs are recognized and supported. The incumbent will attend internal and external meetings, strengthen relationships with local industry and workforce partners, coordinate initiatives that elevate TTC's public presence, and serve as Administrator on Duty for evening classes, making time-sensitive operational decisions within established policies. Ideal candidates will bring experience in campus operations, community and industry engagement, CTE program support, event and facility coordination, and collaborative leadership across diverse stakeholders. A strong understanding of student services, emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, and the needs of a trades-focused campus is essential. Duties
GENERAL PURPOSE
Under general direction of the Trades, Technology, and Community Learning Campus (TTC) Administrator, the Director, Campus Initiatives and Community Engagement serves as a representative and advocate for the career technical education (CTE) and community learning programs within the larger district and community. The Director builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external partners to champion the campus's unique mission and ensure its needs are recognized and addressed by attending meetings, coordinating efforts, and supporting special initiatives. The incumbent acts as Administrator on Duty (AOD) for evening classes at TTC, serves as the TTC Administrator's designee for campus operations with delegated authority to make time-sensitive operational decisions within established policy and to escalate policy-level issues to the Administrator. Performs other duties as assigned.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
The Director, Campus Initiatives and Community Engagement serves as the TTC Administrator's designee and primary campus liaison, coordinating campus-wide functions, including safety, event coordination, and support services, within established district policies and procedures. The role bridges strategic priorities with day-to-day execution by partnering with academic, student services, and administrative departments to facilitate solutions and track follow-through. The Director supports career technical education programs by coordinating the specialized infrastructure and operational needs of a trades-focused campus and cultivating community and industry partnerships. The incumbent coordinates emergency preparedness and compliance activities with district partners and elevates TTC's public presence through event and facility logistics leadership.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, educational leadership and six (6) years of professional experience in overseeing and managing college operations or student services, community relations, project coordination, with (2) of those years serving in a leadership capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
A valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.
Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.
