Job Summary

The Environmental Center at the University of Colorado, Boulder is seeking applications for a Temporary Climate Action Planning Coordinator! This position will provide technical expertise to advance projects related to the CU Boulder Climate Action Plan produced by the course GEOG 4022 / MCEN 4228 Climate Action Planning. They will coordinate between on and off-campus experts working on the Climate Action Plan to complete (1) typographical and grammatical edits to 6 student CAP class reports, integration of implementor feedback and summary of next steps (2) producing a summary of CAP implementation progress that is accessible to students, and recommendations for future education and awareness opportunities (3) creating a list of four recommendations for future CAP class projects. The overall goal for this work is to solidify a two-way communication pathway from campus staff and administrators to and from students regarding the Climate Action Plan, filling a current gap in communication, transparency, and accountability. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Coordinate with CU Boulder administrators, staff, faculty and collaborators involved with implementing the campus Climate Action Plan (CAP) to gather feedback and create recommendations from student Climate Action Planning course and next steps.
  • Finalize and publish final Climate Action Plan (CAP) class reports for feedback, analyze feedback, and determine which feedback to incorporate and document as next steps.
  • Develop a record of current campus climate action plan progress written in accessible language that students can understand. Include recommendations and strategies for communicating this information to students, timelines, details, and next steps.
  • Based on determined campus climate action plan progress, create detailed recommendations for future class projects.
  • Work with implementers to assess progress on equity-specific CAP projects, develop equity-specific additional strategies, and develop implementation timeline and next steps.


What You Should Know

  • The anticipated length of this part-time, hybrid assignment will be until 8/31, working 20 hours per week


What We Can Offer

  • The hourly pay range for this position is $18.90 - $20.00

What We Require

  • Completion of the CU Boulder course GEOG 4022/ MCEN 4228 - Climate Action Planning with a grade of A


What You Will Need

  • Deep familiarity with the CU Boulder Campus Climate Action Plan, principles of greenhouse gas accounting, SBTI criteria, and Climate Justice.
  • Ability to speak with diversity of collaborators, holding different levels of expertise to synthesize information.
  • Ability to send professional emails and speak with high-level executives.
