Instructional Assistant, Automotive (3 positions)

Three (3) regular, district-funded, non-benefited part-time positions, 16 hours per week, 10 months per year on the Oceanside Campus. These are evening shift assignments Monday through Thursday with normal work hours starting between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. and ending between 9:30 and 10:00 p.m. Occasional Saturday morning hours on a rotational basis may be required. The people selected for these positions will be subject to assignment to any district facility during any hours of operation.

The first-level interviews with the screening and interview committee will be conducted via Zoom. The second-level interviews may be conducted in person or via Zoom.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:
MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: Employee Residency requires all classified staff, administrators, and temporary/hourly short-term employees to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two hundred (200) road miles from the employee's regularly assigned district worksite.

The District may consider an individual's request to temporarily reside outside the State of California or beyond the 200-mile limit on a case-by-case basis, provided it does not exceed 12 consecutive months.

Under general supervision, assist in the preparation of instructional materials and demonstrations; operate, distribute and demonstrate the safe use of specialized and sometimes hazardous equipment, tools and supplies; tutor students and correct their work; maintain the instructional lab in a safe and orderly manner and perform related duties as assigned.

Starting at $2,593.56 per month (range 16, step 1 on the 2026-2027 classified salary schedule), with annual salary step increases up to step 5.
