Position Description
Performs supervisory and coordinative work in the operation of a specific program or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Process travel applications and reimbursement for faculty members, graduate students, and student chapters
  • Assist with seminar speakers, faculty candidates, and other guests visiting the department, including organizing their itinerary, booking hotels and flights, and reimbursing visitors for their travel expenses
  • Manage the departmental office and perform general office duties such as managing mail and shipments, managing the photocopier, and ordering office supplies
  • Handle office communication including checking the department email account and answering the phone
  • Reconcile monthly P-card statement for the department
  • Assist with organization of departmental functions such as advisory board meetings, alumni dinners, AIChE and graduation reception


Required Qualifications
High school graduation plus five (5) years progressively responsible related experience; additional related education may exchange for the required experience on a year for year basis.
