Job Summary:
Provides pediatric cardiology services at the Briargate clinic in Colorado Springs, with additional outreach to communities across Southern Colorado. Delivers comprehensive, patient- and family-centered care, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of pediatric cardiovascular conditions. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and community providers to ensure coordinated, accessible care.
Key Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Provide outpatient cardiology services, including interpretation of external echocardiograms and EKGs
- Participate in network-of-care and outreach clinic activities
- Share in call responsibilities, distributed equitably among the Briargate cardiology team
- Engage in community education initiatives and professional networking opportunities
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to be onsite and is based at pediatric cardiology outreach locations on Colorado's Western Slope.

The Society of Thoracic Surgery requires a hospital to perform at least 250 heart surgeries per year to be considered a high-volume center. Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Doctorate degree (MD or DO)
- Board Eligible in Pediatric Cardiology.
- Ability to obtain CO medical license
- DEA certificate
- 0-6 years of clinical experience, interest in pursuing academic promotion
Condition of Employment:
- Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
- Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:
- Board certification in Pediatric Cardiology
- Prior experience in outpatient cardiology including outreach
- Minimum of 2 years of Heart Echo Imaging experience
- Minimum of 2 years of ECG experience
- Experience teaching and working with Trainees
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Deep knowledge of congenital heart disease anatomy, physiology and clinical implications
- Strong communication skills
- Must be able to multitask
- Teach and train others with patience and provide mentorship
- Build relationships with community and referring providers
- Collaboration with other departments within the system

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$248,674 - 285,431
The above hiring rate represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
