JOB TITLE:
Physician, Student Health
JOB PURPOSE:
Provide outpatient medical care to students; promote overall wellness to the campus community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examine patients, diagnose illness, and prescribe treatment; provide referrals to patients when necessary.
- Order or conduct various tests, analyses, and x-rays to provide information on the patient's condition.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records.
- Analyze reports and findings of tests and examinations to diagnose conditions and recommend treatment.
- Administer or prescribe treatments and/or medications.
- Promote health by advising patients regarding diet, hygiene and methods of disease prevention.
- Assist the Director, Student Health Services in overseeing daily operations of Student Health Services
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with training and instructing professional staff in Student Health, and coordinate delivery of health care services to students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy degree
Experience: 2 years work-related experience
Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements:
- Valid board certification (or Board Eligible status) in a primary care specialty
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
- Temporary Expedited Medical License prior to employment and a full, unrestricted permanent medical license granted by the Wyoming Board of Medicine upon expiration of the Temporary Expedited Medical License
Important Note Regarding Experience Requirements:
Minimum experience requirements are evaluated on a full-time equivalent (FTE) basis. Relevant experience obtained through eligible part-time employment will be prorated based on hours worked. As an example, two years of experience working 20 hours per week is equivalent to approximately one year of full-time experience. Applicants are required to accurately report average hours worked for each position to ensure proper evaluation of qualifications.
Please include average hours worked per week for all current and previous positions. Failure to provide this information may affect the evaluation of your qualifications.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in family medicine with emphasis on outpatient adolescent/adult medicine.
- Certification in AHA Basic Life Support, or the ability/willingness to do so.
- Demonstrated understanding of best standards of practice, including State and Federal laws and regulations, HIPAA, FERPA, the Clery Act, Title IX, OSHA, and federal sexual assault regulations.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in budgeting, staff supervision, facility operations, and strategic planning.
- Experience using an EMR system (SHS utilizes Medicat).
- Ability to engage in quantitative and qualitative assessment to measure population needs and service efficacy.
- Experience in a leadership position in college health care, ideally including experience with accreditation processes.
- Demonstrated ability to evolve healthcare services to meet the needs of underserved populations on a college/university campus.

WORK LOCATION:
On-Campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.
