JOB TITLE:

Assistant Instructional Professor of Finance

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Department of Accounting and Finance in the College of Business at the University of Wyoming invites applications for an Assistant Instructional Professor of Finance beginning Spring 2027 (preferred) or Fall 2027. We invite applicants with qualifications to teach and conduct research in any finance area.

Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the strong teaching reputation of the department's faculty, actively participate in our undergraduate and graduate Finance programs and CFP Board-registered certificate program, and publish quality peer-reviewed research in finance or closely related fields.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ph.D. in Finance or closely related field in hand by start date of employment
  • Demonstrated potential for research publication to maintain a Scholarly Academic (SA) status (two or more peer-reviewed journal articles per six-year rolling period) for AACSB accreditation
  • Three or more years of university teaching experience or having completed a Ph.D. within the last three years


Experience Evaluation

Minimum experience requirements are evaluated on a full-time equivalent (FTE) basis. Relevant part-time experience will be prorated based on hours worked. For example, two years working an average of 20 hours per week is equivalent to approximately one year of full-time experience.

Applicants must include the average hours worked per week for all current and previous positions. Failure to provide this information may affect the evaluation of qualifications.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching
  • Evidence of ongoing high-quality research productivity
  • CFA or CFP certification or on track of earning one
  • Commitment to departmental, college, university, and professional service
  • Ability to start the position in Spring 2027
