About the Opportunity

The School of Nursing within the Bouv College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University invites applications for multiple full-time open rank tenure-track/ tenured positions at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels with an anticipated start date in 2027.

We are seeking highly motivated candidates with research programs that broadly align with our mission of advancing health for everyone, from the individual to society, across the healthspan. The research areas for these positions are open to candidates studying topics across the many diverse disciplines in nursing research within the broad umbrella of oncology. We welcome candidates with interdisciplinary expertise who is capable of leading and collaborating with researchers at Bouv and across Northeastern University. Junior researchers are welcome to apply, as are senior faculty with internationally recognized research programs and strong funding. Candidates will have demonstrated teaching excellence and a commitment to supporting a global faculty, staff, and student environment. The candidates should also have a PhD in Nursing or a related field and be eligible for RN licensure in Massachusetts.

Our tenure and promotion process values collaborative research and teamwork. Hires will be mentored for success, with mentoring teams and group guidance. In addition, a strong and effective faculty development strategy is part of the Northeastern institutional mission. The ADVANCE Office of Faculty Development office works in conjunction with the Office of Research Development (ORD), the Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning Through Research (CATLR), and University Decision Support (UDS) to provide programs and trainings to develop further and support a thriving faculty.

Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting an independent and externally funded research program, and participating in departmental, college, and university service. Qualified candidates must be prepared to work with global student populations.

Qualifications

Terminal degree (PhD or equivalent) in Nursing or related field by employment start date.
Evidence of an established area of research and scholarship, teaching excellence, and demonstrated excellence and commitment to supporting a global faculty, staff, and student environment.
Candidates with Nursing degrees must be eligible for MA licensure.

All applicants should have a strong record of scholarly accomplishment that demonstrates the promise (for Assistant Professor-level candidates) and ability to build a strong research program. Academic rank at the Associate or Full Professor level will be commensurate with experience and qualifications reflecting a record of substantial research productivity and an established history of grant support, teaching, and academic service. Appointments at the Full Professor rank require at least 10 years of teaching and research experience, and Associate-level appointments require a minimum of 5 years of teaching and research experience. Full and Associate-level appointments require conducting independent research that attracts external funding. Research excellence is the top-most priority.

Pay Range:

Assistant Professor: $108,000.00 - $130,000.00 | Associate Professor: $122,000.00 - $137,000.00 | Professor: $148,000.00 - $244,000.00

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
